Roads & Bridges Committee

The US Chapter Roads and Bridges Industry Committee is working to support AASHTO in implementing the resolution passed by the AASHTO Board of Directors in October 2019 to adopt the buildingSMART IFC Schema as the national standard for transportation infrastructure digital data by member State DOT’s.

This committee is jointly chaired by –

Will Sharp, Senior Vice President and Global Director of Highways at HDR who is a non-voting participant of the AASHTO Joint Technical Committee on Electronic Engineering Standards, lead consultant to the BIM for Bridges & Structures Transportation Pooled Fund Study and serves as a co-chair of the ARTBA Innovation and Technology Forum.

Trisha Stefanski, Professional Engineer and Asset Management Program Office Manager of Minnesota Department of Transportation.

In addition to supporting AASHTO’s implementation of open standards, this committee facilitates coordination with buildingSMART International activities to ensure that US requirements are considered in the development, evolution and governance of the buildingSMART international openBIM standards and services.

This Committee collaborates with key industry stakeholders including FHWA, NIBS, ACEC, AGC, ARTBA, HEEP, TRB, NSBA, and others. Participation is welcomed.
