The buildingSMART Data Dictionary (bSDD) Service & US national standard content (USDD)

August 11 @ 12:00 pm Eastern

buildingSMART International has built a new platform to serve the information rationalization and cross-referencing needs of the built asset industry, the bSDD. Join Dr. Aaron Costin of the University of Florida M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management as he walks the community through the proposal for a US national standard data dictionary (the USDD), governed by bS-USA and its members, to leverage the bSDD in delivering standardized terms, definitions, classifications, and linking other standards to US industry end users through their software. As the leader of the USDD Working Group, Aaron will explain how industry stakeholders and group members will work to develop and maintain the data dictionary content to ensure the highest quality, single source of truth for how the US built asset industry translates data into actionable, valuable information.
